Hi, There was a very interesting programme regarding how bees communicate with each to find pollen. In the hive, they line up their bodies, compass wise, on the direct route other bees should take, then waggle their hind quarters (if you know what I mean) a certain number of times, which corresponds to how many km’s away the flowers are.
Dear Ethel
We have sighted five stag beetles this year, we see about this number every year as they emerge from holes in the ground at the bottom of our garden. Unfortunately we have also found three remains of these creatures, again, as we do each year. We leave tree stumps to decay whenever
a tree in our garden dies. The one they seem to be living below is a plum tree stump that died 12 years or so ago. We love seeing them but they have scared a few guests over the years.
